Brains and Brawn in a Watch

At last watches that are tough, dependable and best of all you can read them in the dark! The watches I am talking about are Luminox watches.  I was after a watch that could take some abuse, didn't look like a monstrosity and that I could read easily in the dark. After quite a lengthy search (I like to be sure I'm buying a quality product) I found the Luminox Navy SEAL, a watch that more than fulfilled my critera for a watch.

The main feature that attracted me to the Navy SEAL was the illumination system, I have to admit I am used to digital watches like Casio's, on my Casio you press a button, the watch glows and you have a few seconds to quickly read the time before it goes off. Not with a Luminox! Luminox watches don't stop glowing, they use a system that involves self-powered tritium valves that require no buttons to be pushed and don't even need exposing to light! The test was when I used the watch at night, the dial glow brighter than any watch I had ever seen before, making it a breeze to tell the time.

The watch I bought was the Navy SEAL, given that name because it was built to the specifications of the US Navy SEAL's, if thats not a good endorsement I don't know what is. Them guys are pretty tough to say the least and I'm sure they are doing more strenous activities than me walking home from the pub late at night! Luminox watches are of course designed to take some punishment, whether I will manage to inflict such punishment on the watch as a test remains to be seen, but I'm sure falling over drunk doesn't count!

Luminox doesn't seem to be that much of a big name here in the UK, but I found that outdoorgb.com (where I bought mine from) has an impressive selection of watches with different colour dials and such like available. The best thing is all Luminox watches use the same amazing illumination system, no more fumbling around in the dark for a light to tell the time!
